Significant occurrences:

1. SWE Region - 03 Mar. - UPDATE Bul.#1100, item 1 refers. 8 Chilliwack
                SAR members were called out on 15 March by the RCMP to
                conduct a search of the Slesse Park area, Chilliwack
                River Valley, for the missing aircraft. RCMP had
                received a report from a hiker who had been in the
                area on 02 March and reported hearing an explosion.
                Nothing was located and the search was stood down.

2. NWE Region - 05 Mar. - UPDATE Bul.#1000, item 12 refers. One of two
                snowmobilers, who had been overdue in the Cassiar area,
                120 kms north of Dease Lake, walked out on his own in
                the early morning hours of 06 March. The second
                snowmobiler had been unable to walk out due to the
                rough terrain. A helicopter was used to retrieve the
                second male, who was suffering from frostbite.

3. SWE Region - 14 Mar. - 2 Pemberton SAR members responded to a call
                from RCMP to rescue a downed hang glider at the foot
                of McKenzie Bluff. Assistance stood down as of
                1900 hrs as it was determined the hang glider would
                be able to extricate himself.

4. CTL Region - 15 Mar. - 20 North Okanagan SAR members responded
                after receiving report of an elderly male, possibly
                mentally challenged and unprepared for the weather,
                missing from Kinsdale House. He was located alive and
                well approximately one-half mile from his residence.

5. SWE Region - 15 Mar. - 16 Whistler SAR members conducted a search
                of the Garibaldi Park area after four U.S. males were
                reported missing from a ski/snowboard outing. A
                helicopter was authorized to transport the SAR team
                into the Cheakamus Lake area on 16 March. The missing
                males were spotted while the helicopter was en route
                and they were picked up and airlifted out.

6. NEA Region - 16 Mar. - 18 members of Prince George SAR searched the
                College Heights area for a despondent male, missing
                since 11 March. The male was located deceased and
                turned over to the RCMP and Coroner.

7. CTL Region - 18 Mar. - 22 SAR members from Keremeos, Penticton and
                Oliver were called out to search for a missing
                suicidal male in the Paul Creek area west of Keremeos.
                The male was located emotionally distressed, but
                otherwise unharmed.

8. CTL Region - 18 Mar. - 3 Penticton Marine Rescue members responded
                by boat to rescue the occupants of a sailboat in
                trouble on Okanagan Lake due to high winds. The two
                individuals were rescued uninjured.

MISCELLANEOUS

On 16 Mar, 4 Telkwa Hwy Rescue members responded 4 km east of Telkwa 
on Hwy 16 to assist BC Ambulance with a female suffering with heavy 
bleeding. Female transported to hospital.

On 19 Mar, 5 Salmon Arm SAR members responded to assist BCAS in 
lifting a heavy patient from home to ambulance.
